RALPH RUCCI X HOLLY HUNT
The Ralph Rucci x Holly Hunt project began with an extensive study of Rucci’s archive, using the principles behind his fashion, drawings and visual references as the foundation for an 18-piece furniture collection.
Working directly with Ralph Rucci, Jonathan Hansen identified recurring ideas of structure, drape, proportion, line and controlled sensuality, then translated them into furniture through material, scale and construction. Tailoring became proportion. Draping informed curvature and volume. Architectural structure became frame, support and silhouette.
The collection also drew from Rucci’s wider visual world, including Asian classicism, historic interiors and sculptural geometry. Restrained in expression but often complex in construction, the pieces balanced bold silhouettes with refined finishes and highly considered engineering.
The result extended Rucci’s design language into the interior without relying on literal references to fashion. Instead, the collection translated the discipline, precision and sensuality of his work into furniture with its own material and spatial presence.
