Part of Series II within Jonathan Hansen’s Biomorphic work, this vase extends the collection’s exploration of the human body, weight, tension and movement into carved stone.
Drawing from second-century Roman sculpture, the form abstracts the body into a study of pressure, balance and release. The mass of the material is shaped to feel fluid and unexpectedly alive, continuing the dialogue between gravity and lift that runs throughout the Biomorphic work.
Each vase is carved from a solid block of Nero Marquina marble and made in Italy in partnership with Extravega Milano SRL.
